CIVIL WEDDINGS, CIVIL PARTNERSHIPS AND RENEWAL CEREMONIES
Your Wedding Day is one of the most important days of your life and you can rest assured that all of our staff are committed to making your day as perfect as possible.
Once you have decided to go ahead, it is necessary to book your Civil Ceremony or Church as soon as possible – the most difficult decisions are now over and the fun part of creating your wedding day is still to come!
We are Licenced for Civil Weddings, Partnerships and Renewal Ceremonies at South Causey Inn both in our Function Rooms and in the South Causey Gardens, so that your day can move effortlessly from Ceremony to Celebration.
Couples seeking to be married at South Causey Inn are required to give Notice of Marriage to the Superintendent Registrar at: Stanley Register Office, Telephone 0191 3872215 . Please note that couples are also required to give notice to the Superintendent Registrar for the Registration District in which they live. The marriage couple will be responsible for booking and paying the fees for the attendance of these registration staff.
The Civil Ceremony must be held between the hours of 10.00 and 15.00.
10.00 and 15.00 (Monday to Saturday)
10.30 and 11.00 ( Tanfield Suite Sundays)
10.30 and 12.00 (Beamish Suite Sundays)
Register Rules dictate any readings, music or performance that forms part of the Civil Marriage Ceremony celebrated at South Causey Inn must be non-religious in content. Please ask the Superintendent Registrar for further details. No food or drink (including alcohol) may be served or consumed in the room where the wedding takes place for one hour prior to the ceremony, or during the ceremony itself.
The areas approved for the celebration of Civil Marriages The Beamish Suite and The Snug, The Durham Suite, The Tanfield Suite, The Cobbles and the South Causey Gardens.
The general public cannot be excluded from any Civil Marriage Ceremony.
