We stayed here for one night only but I wish it had been more.  We were here for our Son's wedding and everything about this place is good.  Our Room, number 17, was exceptionally spacious - it can sleep 6 - it had beautiful thick white towels and plenty of complimentary toiletries in the well equipped bathroom, a large bath and fabulous separate shower.  The other rooms that I saw were equally good, obviously not so large but cosy and well equipped.  Plenty of tea, coffee and milk was provided as well as hot chocolate and biscuits and a note inviting you to ring reception if you needed more.  We have eaten here on a number of occasions as we are fairly localy and the food is great.  The breakfast was delicious - this however, is my one minor area for comment, it finishes at 9 a.m. which might be a bit early for some.  Everyone is pleasant and helpful and nothing is a problem for the staff. 

The wedding itself was handled very well indeed and I would particularly like to thank Jean and Chris, for their attention to detail and professional approach.  The food at the wedding breakfast was superb and the buffet in the evening was exceptional.  There have been a lot of great comments on the whole event from friends and family.  This venue can cater for quite large numbers but it manages to retain a personal and intimate atmosphere.

Although we did not partake in any of the onsite or local activities, there are plenty on offer.  Some of the wedding guests had a pamper session at the onsite hair and beauty salon that has recently opened and were well pleased with it.

Overall we had a wonderful experience at the South Causey Inn and would highly recommend it for both a leisure visit and a wedding.

We really enjoyed our stay.  We thought it was excellent value for money.  Fantastic bar and breakfast was superb.  It is very close to Beamish, I would highly recommend staying here!  Everything, it is an independent, unique hotel with wonderful surroundings and atmosphere!

An excellent friendly pub/restaurant with very comfortable rooms. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent. The farm setting is about as countrified as you can get and it is great for children of all ages.

Alan and I want to thank you all for helping to make our recent stay at the South Causey so nice.  The food, the service and the room were perfect.  Reaching the big 60 was a lot easier to deal with in such pleasant surroundings (the red wine did help a little).  This was our second stay and once again everything was perfect.

My wife and I stayed with you for 3 nights from10/7/2011 and I wanted you to know that we had a really enjoyable stay here. We were really impressed by room 22 in the “courtyard block” with its good quality finish, fittings and fixtures. The food is very good and your portions are extremely generous! All of the staff we met during our stay were polite, friendly, helpful and a credit to the Inn. (15th July 2011)
