LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

Nestled in the beautiful Beamish Valley, South Causey Inn is the ideal place for exploring the North East countryside.

Although very close to the A1 and the North's major Cities, we are set amidst 110 acres of land and have stunning views over countryside to Newcastle, Gateshead and Penshaw Monument.

We are equidistant between Newcastle City Centre and Durham City, home of the World Heritage Site, Durham Cathedral www.durhamcathedral.co.uk. Shopping at one of England's biggest Shopping Centre's - The Metro Centre www.metrocentre-gateshead.co.uk, is only 8 minutes away from us.

Tanfield Railway www.tanfield-railway.co.uk
Is a wonderful day out for all the family. Just sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery as steam drifts past your carriage in a truly yesteryear atmosphere, when life's pace was less hurried. The main purpose of the railway was the movement of coal from nearby collieries to ships on the River Tyne. Tanfield Railway is less than 1 mile away from South Causey and is a fascinating day out for Steam Train lovers both young and old!
2 Rides for the Price of 1 Vouchers available to guests of South Causey Inn!
