SOUTH CAUSEY GARDENS

Directly opposite South Causey Inn you will see the arched entrance to our 1¼ acre classic English vegetable garden.  There are over 70 different varieties of native and organically produced herbs and vegetables which are grown in the Victorian style raised beds.

Please take the short walk to the gardens and enjoy the sights and smells of this classic English vegetable garden...

South Causey Gardens house all our organic herbs for use by our Chefs at the Inn, which goes hand in hand with our policy of providing fresh local produce to our customers.

In the Middle Ages people used many plants and herbs in their daily life.  Herbs were used to flavour food and it was commonly known that a large number of plants contained healing properties.

Most UK herbs have been cultivated in this country since Roman times.  Medieval people created special gardens dedicated to the growing of useful plants.

Anyone with an interest in some gentle gardening is welcome to come and join our Friends of South Causey and help with our new venture - South Causey Gardens.  Once the garden is established there will rarely be any seriously vigorous tasks to do, although helping to keep those weeds at bay and keeping the gardens tidy will be a big help!

If you are interested please give us a call here at South Causey Inn obn 01207 235555!
