A few helpful hints for your special day!  Top of the list being 'Enjoy yourself, it's going to be a Great Day'!

Thinking of getting married?
Make an appointment and come and have a look around and meet your Wedding Coordinator, who will be delighted to show you our function rooms.

Booking your wedding
When you are ready to confirm, please come to the Inn and we can discuss your requirements and book your wedding with a £500 non-refundable & non-transferable deposit and Contracts will be issued.  At this point, it is wise to book any guest bedrooms that you require.

18 to 9 months ahead
Choose your bridesmaids, Best Man and Ushers
Draw up a guest list
Plan your entertainment
Book your florist
Make transport arrangements
Arrange a photographer/videographer
Start to plan your Hen and Stag events

9 to 6 months ahead
Order your wedding outfits
Plan and order your wedding stationary
Order your wedding cake
Obtain your Marriage Notice
Book your hairdresser and make up artist
Choose and order your wedding rings
Draw up a wedding gift list
Check your passports and arrange a new one for the Bride!

6 Months before

Six months before your wedding, you will be invited to come along to South Causey Inn and we sit down and discuss the details of your wedding – menu choices, numbers of guests, table plans, table settings and colour schemes, timings and all the personal details that go to make your day very special. At this point it is also necessary to pay a further 25% of the final balance which is non refundable.

12 to 6 weeks ahead
Arrange for the reading of Banns
Send out invitations
Meet your florist to agree your final choices
Purchase your thank you gifts

6 to 2 weeks ahead
Fill in the marriage notice forms and submit them to the Registrars Office
Check the order of service
Have a hair and make up trial
Drawn up your table plan

6 weeks before
Make an appointment to see us and together, we shall finalise your wedding, timings, requirements, menus, table plan and numbers.  Don't forget to make a list of questions so you don't forget anything.  Full payment is to be made at this point and is non refundable.

Night before!
The arrival of your wedding cake at the hotel, along with any decorations, balloons, table plans, place settings, etc.

This is a suggested timescale but please feel free to contact us at any time and we shall be delighted to discuss any queries you may have.

Please feel free to decorate the outside of the Inn and the Gazebo with any kind of decorations you like, ribbons, streamers, balloons, etc.  Anything you want, it's your special day!

THE BIG DAY!

On arrival your guests who are staying can book in from 12 p.m.  All your guests will be served by waiters with drinks of your choice to begin the celebrations, and why not give your guests a choice of canapes, maybe chocolate dipped strawberries!

Meet and greet your guests as they enter your wedding reception.  You might also like your Bridesmaids, Best Man, Ushers or even close family members to greet them too!

Once all your guests have been seated you will be announced to all your guests as the 'Bride and Groom', followed by a sumptuous 3 course meal of your choice with all tastes catered for including vegetarians, vegans, etc. nothing is a problem!

Speeches are normally made after the meal but can be made before if you like!

At this point, waiters will serve your guests with a sparkling toast before the speeches begin.  The normal order being Brides Father, Groom and then the Best Man but many people choose to make speeches before.

Often your guests will want to take a photo of yourselves cutting your beautifully decorated cake.  Forgot the knife! Don't worry, we can provide you with a silver knife and silver square cake stand.  Your cake can be served along with tea and coffee - often by your bridesmaids.

A little extra tip if you having an evening reception, is to get the disco to arrive early so it is already set up and won't be interrupting your celebrations!  Unfortunately your disco will have to end at Midnight, but I'm sure you'll have had a fantastically, memory filled day by then!
