We believe that no member of the family should be left behind, especially when there are acres of beautiful grounds and the nearby Beamish Valley to explore. At South Causey Inn, we have several pet friendly rooms available. We also welcome dogs in our bar and snug area.
Dog Friendly Rooms
Our ground floor Courtyard Bedrooms and Deluxe Rooms, excluding the Trafalgar Square Bus and French Boudoir, are all pet friendly. If you're bringing your four-legged friend along with you, there is a charge of £20 per night, however we'll provide a cosy dog bed, dog bowl, and goodies for you to take home.
Doggy Days Out
From a gentle stroll around our herb gardens to an action-packed swim in our private lakes, there's plenty to keep your canine companion occupied during your stay. We're just a short walk from the historic Beamish woods and the Beamish river - perfect for pooches that love splashing around!
We even have a monthly dog walk, which takes place at 9am on the first Saturday on every month. Explore the Beamish Valley with other dog walkers before heading back to the inn for a coffee and bacon buttie!
Doggy Afternoon Tea in The Old Barn – Saturday, 29th February 2020
We are thrilled to announce that we are holding our 2nd Doggy Afternoon tea on Saturday 29th February 2020 in the Old Barn!
ALeap year only comes along every four years, so leap into Spring 2020 and make the most of the day! Bring along your beloved pooch to indulge in our famous Causey Afternoon Tea. A very generous Picnic Table of deliciousness will be delivered to your table and a Puppacino for your furry friend as well as Spring treats from the Easter Bunny!
We will be taking bookings at 11.30 am and 4.30 pm, please arrive half an hour before your booking time.

Causey Canine Cross Country Competition – Saturday, 11th April 2020
Get your pooch into gear, there's a competition to prepare for!
We are so excited about our very FIRST Causey Canine Cross Country Competition on Saturday, 11th April from 11 am until 1 pm.
All abilities are welcome - The Causey Canine Cross Country Competition will take place next to the HOTSPOT Fire Engine Bar, which will be serving cocktails, mocktails, bottles, and snacks.
The Competition entry fee is £1.50, 50p of the fees will be donated to The Edward Bulldog Foundation.
The winning Doggos will receive a Rosette and can get their photograph taken on the podium - for the gram!

101 Dalmatians Movie Screening Afternoon Tea – Wednesday, 15th April 2020
One Hundred and One Dalmatians is a 1961 American animated adventure film produced by Walt Disney Productions and based on the 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians, by Dodie Smith. Directed by Clyde Geronimi, Hamilton Luske, and Wolfgang Reitherman, it was Disney's 17th animated feature film.
On Wednesday, 15th April 2020 we will be screening this fantastic movie classic in The Durham Suite with adults and children's Afternoon Tea and of course, your dogs are welcome too!
We will welcome you to your table and a generous picnic table Afternoon Tea will be served. Tuck into delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and strawberry jam, followed by a delectable selection for your sweet tooth! All will be replenished with free-flowing tea and coffee.
Unlike Cruella de Vil, South Causey Inn will never forget the pooches, puppuccinos will be at the ready on arrival.
