BOOKING

WHAT DEPOSIT DO I PAY TO BOOK MY WEDDING?

£800 2018 bookings /£900 2019 bookings / £1000 2020 bookings (Infinity bookings an additional £100)  

PRICING AND PACKAGES

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE AFTER BOOKING?

Twelve Month before the Big Day a non-refundable or transferable 25% of the pack price is due.

Six months before the Big Day, you will be invited to a meeting, usually held on a Wednesday evening, where we will gather some more information as to how you would like your day to go, timings, menu choices etc.  and at this point a non-refundable or transferable 25% of the pack price is due.

Six weeks before the wedding you will again join us for a meeting where we will discuss your final arrangements for the day and this is when the non-refundable or transferable final balance is paid. Your final balance will be calculated, this will include your civil ceremony price plus any extra day or night guests minus the original deposit and 25% 12 and 6 month payment.

HOW CAN I PAY?

Payments can be made by debit card, cash or cheques (made payable to South Causey Inn). Unfortunately we cannot accept payments on credit cards. 

CAN I SPLIT THE PAYMENT?

Yes payments can be split for different payment methods.

THE PRICE OF THE PACKAGE HAS CHANGED SINCE I BOOKED, WHICH PRICE DO I PAY?

The package price you are required to pay is the price shown in the corresponding brochure to your signed contract.

MY PACKAGE STATES IT INCLUDES 50 DAY GUESTS AND 70 EVENING GUESTS? HOW MANY GUESTS IS THIS IN TOTAL?

If the package includes 50 day guests and 70 evening guests the breakdown would be as followed:

A total of 50 guest (including the happy couple) attending the wedding breakfast

A total of 70 guests attending the evening reception. Please note this is NOT an additional 70 on top of the 50 day guests, but a total number.  

I HAVE MORE GUESTS ATTENDING THAN THE PACKAGE INCLUDES? WHAT DO I DO?

Additional guests upwards of the numbers included in the package can be added at additional charges. These charges are stated next to the package pricing in your brochure.

CIVIL CEREMONY

DO I PAY EXTRA FOR A CIVIL CEREMONY?

Yes you have to pay for a licence to be married at the Inn. If you are using the registrars services you will also have to pay the registry office a fee for the registrars to perform the ceremony.

IS THIS THE ONLY OPTION?

No, you could be married at a religious house i.e. Church, Mosque, Synagogue or you could use a Celebrant.

CAN I HAVE A CANDLE CEREMONY?

Yes you can, but you the registrar team require you to provide the candles and holders.

BEDROOMS

DO MY GUESTS RECEIVE ANY DISCOUNT ON BEDROOMS?

Yes, your guests receive a rounded 10% discount on bedrooms on the night of the wedding.

CAN MY GUESTS GET THIS DISCOUNT ON BEDROOMS BOOKED ONLINE?

No, unfortunately guests will only receive the discount by booking the rooms over the phone on 01207 235 555

DO MY GUESTS HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT?

Yes, there is a £30 (£50 Hot Tub rooms) non-refundable deposit required on booking.

ARE ANY BEDROOMS HELD FOR ME?

No bedrooms are held for the wedding party. We advise booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

CAN I STAY THE NIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING?

Yes you can. However please keep in mind that no room will be held, it is the responsibility of the wedding party to book this.

WHAT TIME IS CHECK- IN FOR ALL ROOMS?

Check- in is from 2pm for all Guests.

WHAT HAPPENS TO ANY THINGS LEFT IN BEDROOMS?

We will hold any belongings left in accordance with our Lost Property Policy.

HOW DO I COMPLETE MY MENU CHOICES? 

Platinum Packages

Your menu choices in the following format:

The overall total of each dish required - for example:

23 Seafood Platter, 20 Vegetable Soup, 6 Duck Leg, 1 Vegetarian Mushroom Bruchetta

20 Rack of Lamb, 15 Beef Wellington, 14 Chicken Breast in Parma Ham, 1 Vegetarian Chilli

49 Trio of Desserts, 1 Fresh Fruit Salad

Table by Table totals- for example:

Table 1: 2 Seafood Platter, 4 Soup, 1 Duck Leg

DRESSING

CAN I CHOOSE MY ROOM DRESSING?

Room dressing is included in the Platinum Package or it can be added to Gold Package. You will contact us arrange a time to come down to discuss your room dressing.( Please note that at peak season – June, July, August and December the function suite is often in use.) This is normally between the six month and the six weeks meetings. You can book your dressing meeting as soon as you know your colour scheme/ theme.

NAME CARDS

Please note on platinum package name cards have to contain the individual menu choice of the guest.

IF I AM USING AN EXTERNAL COMPANY FOR DRESSING –WHAT TIMES CAN THEY COME?

External companies must sign an external supplier's form before delivering anything to the Inn. It is the wedding parties responsibility that companies are informed of this and that the form is signed. Companies can access the function suite from 9am on the day of the wedding and all belongings of the company must be picked up by 7.30am the day after the wedding. South Causey Inn cannot accept any responsibility for external supplies or brides own wedding items. When collecting your thing the following day we ask that a list of ALL items that you bring to decorate your room etc is given and you must check that these things are there before you leave the next day. South Causey Inn cannot accept any responsibility for loss or breakages.

WHEN CAN I BRING MY THINGS?

Anytime the day before the wedding. Please make sure items are clearly marked with Bride and Grooms name and the wedding venue.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY THINGS AFTER THE WEDDING?

You will provide us of a list of the things which we will pack up it up in preparation for departure the next day. South Causey Inn cannot accept any responsibility for loss or breakages.

DO YOU ALLOW CONFETTI EXPLODING BALLOONS?

Yes, however if you would like to have an confetti exploding balloon we have to charge £100 as we have to hire a external firm to clean the foliage in the rafters as against Health and Safety  for our staff to clean at that height.

WHEN/ WHERE CAN I COLLECT ITEM THE MORNING AFTER THE WEDDING?

Any items left in the wedding suite can will be collected together in the wedding suite (either Durham or Barn) to be collected between 9am and 10am. After this time they will be moved to an alternative collection site. The Inn cannot accept any responsibility for items before, during or after the event. 

WEDDING ETIQUETTE

WHEN SHOULD THE SPEECHES TAKE PLACE AND IN WHAT ORDER?

Traditionally speeches take place after the wedding breakfast, but nowadays it is more common to have the speeches before the wedding breakfast so everyone can enjoy the meal free of nerves. The traditional order is Father of the Bride, Groom and then Best Man.

WHAT IS THE TRADITIONAL SEATING ARRANGEMENT FOR THE TOP TABLE?

Traditionally the seating arrangements for the top table is Chief Bridesmaid, Groom's Father, Bride's Mother, Groom, Bride, Bride's Father,  Grooms Mother and Best Man. However we understand that this is not always the most practical arrangement and if you would prefer no top table or a top table of only the bride and groom that is your choice.

MUSIC

WHAT TYPE OF SYSTEM DO YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE MUSIC THROUGH MY WEDDING CEREMONY?

Our system supports mp3 players, iPods, phones and Mp3 players and iPods are the easiest as music can be put onto a Playlist.

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS

WILL CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS BE PROVIDED IF I AM HAVING A WINTER WEDDING? 

If you are getting married over the Christmas Period our

Decorations are put up on the last Friday in

November & taken down the day after New Year's Day.

DRINKS

DO YOU ALLOW CORKAGE?

No, unfortunately we don't allow corkage.

MY PARTNER HAS A FAVOURITE BEER, CAN YOU SUPPLY IT?

We will try our hardest to get your favourite drinks. Please discuss this with your wedding co-ordinator, who will be delighted to discuss your requirements.

WHAT TIME IS LAST ORDERS?

Last orders are called at 11.45pm and all bars close at midnight for residents and non residents.

FOOD

I WANT  MY CAKE CUT A CERTAIN WAY, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Please inform your wedding co-ordinator during your six month meeting and place a note with the wedding cake when it arrives. Chef will then follow the written instructions.

ARE THE BRIDE AND GROOM COUNTED AS ONE OF THE GUEST TOTALS I HAVE IN MY PACKAGE?

Yes they are. So for example if your package is based on 50 daytime guests that would include the bride and groom and 48 guests.

CAN I CHOOSE MORE ONE THAN ONE FLAVOUR OF SOUP?

No the only one soup flavour can be chosen.

I HAVE A FUSSY EATER COMING TO MY WEDDING! WHAT DO I DO?

If your guest would prefer the meal without sauce/ gravy/ omit certain ingredients just let us know when you have your six weeks meeting. If they still don't like anything speak to your wedding co-ordinator who will be happy to help.

I HAVE A MUSLIM/ JEWISH GUEST - IS YOUR MEAT HALAL/ KOSHER?

No, unfortunately our meat is not Halal/Kosher. Please speak to your wedding co-ordinator to discuss your guest's needs.

DO I NEED TO CATER FOR ALL OF MY EVENING GUESTS?

Yes all Evening guest must be catered for.  If your number of Guests exceeds 200 you will be cater for 90% of your Guests.

ONE OF MY GUESTS IS BRINGING THEIR BABY – THEY DO NOT REQUIRE A MEAL BUT CAN YOU HEAT UP MILK/BABY FOOD?

Yes, just let us know when you need it heated up. Children in high chairs where you are not supplying a meal, are free of charge.

YOUR WEDDING COORDINATOR

Your Wedding Coordinator for the day will be introduced nearer to your wedding date. They will contact you the week before the wedding and will be with you from 1 hour before the on the day itself and will guide you through all aspects of the day. 

HOTEL RECEPTION TEAM

The Hotel Reception Team is your point of contact for all bedroom bookings and booking of 6 month, 6 week and dressing meetings. Please note that all bedrooms are on a first come first served basis and a non-refundable deposit is required on booking.

WEDDING DRESSING TEAM

Our Wedding Dressing team will help you create the look of your wedding day. Please check if dressing is included in your package. When you have decided on your theme please, call to book with the dressing team, this is usually between your 6 month and 6 week meeting.

WEDDING MEETING SCHEDULE

6 MONTH MEETING

                At this meeting you will discuss the run through of the full day, although nothing final is handed in until 6 weeks before. (menu totals etc)

                Sometime between this meeting and the 6 week meeting, contact us to arrange your dressing meeting

6 WEEK MEETING AND DOCUMENTS

WHEN ARE THESE MEETINGS AND HOW CAN WE BOOK?

6 Month and 6 Week meetings are held on a Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Evening or Saturday Morning.  Dressing meeting are held on Wednesday evenings only. Please call Hotel Reception to book.

We understand that your schedules will be busy so please feel free to book as much in advance as you prefer.
